Subject-verb agrrement

Hello,

1. A verb must be in the same number and person as its subject.

I am able to understand that the verb number must be in the same number as its subject, means plural subject plural verbs form, but not able to understand the meaning of person related to verb.

Could any one here explain it?

Thanks.
