Subject Verb Agreement

Hi
Please tell me if the verbs in these sentences agree with their subjects.

1. A large number of books are bound in suede.

2. Two thirds of the people in the world are do not get enough to eat.

3. Two thirds of the population is reeling under poverty.

4. Ten minutes after the end of the opera, the audience were still applauding.

5. Sixty per cent of the student body has never missed a single day of school this year.

6. Three miles is the distance from here to Glen Cove.

7. The jury were in complete disagreement throughout the deliberations.

 9. A number of students in the creative writing class have entered a national writing contest.
