Subject verb agreement

"The most popular tourist attraction is sea lions. "
"Sea lions are the most popular tourist attraction."
Are these sentences correct? It seems like the subject changes by just rearranging the sentence, and so the verb changes. But that doesn't seem correct. I'm confused about the subject-verb agreement in my examples.
