Subject verb agreement

The boss, as well as his colleagues, has/have been robbed by the robber.
Should we consider his colleagues as one group of sperate individuals.

Or do we not consider "his colleagues" as a subject at all while deciding the singularity orplurality of the verb and simply decide the verb(sigularity/pl) based on subject boss?
