Subject-verb agreement

Hi all

Kindly please help to correct the following:

1. The use of these tools brings......

=

> why not bring instead of brings since it is "tools" - plural

2. The kind of tests that are run will vary .......

==> why "are run" not "is run" since "The kind of tests"...is a singular subject.

Thanks for the help.
