Subject Complement

Hello.
Which of the two sentences is correct:

1. My family members are four: mom, dad, my sister, and I.

2. My family members are four: mom, dad, my sister, and me.

My answer is the first one as the word "I" serves as a subject complement.

Please do correct me if my answer and explanation are wrong.

kerznerk Which of the two sentences is correct: Neither; the real problem is that the general construction is non-native. There are four people in my family: my mother, my father, my sister and I/me. The choice of pronoun is not important there, as an argument can be made for or against either.

As I have shown you, either could be used.

Jim likes us: mother, father and me.
We like sushi: mother, father and I.

The sentence you chose, however, is anomalous in its structure, as I commented.
