Here is the sentence that I must identify a subject and a verb. I think I know what it is but this is for an exam, and I want to be sure I know what I am doing. " The world(S) does not(V) much like curiosity."

Now I am stuck on taking two separate sentences and creating one, single complex sentence. I am having difficulty understanding the purpose of a single complex sentence to begin with.
Here are the two sentences I have to work with: 1. The world does not much like curiosity 2. The world says that curiosity killed the cat.
