Subject and verb agreement

Q1)When compound subject joined by and take the plural form of the verb.

Wrong: here comes nanding and mandy. (plural verb)
Right: here come nanding and mandy. (singular verb)

Why is the singular verb correct not the plural ?

Q2) when as well as,together,with is introduced it does not affect the form of the verb.

Wrong: The teacher,together with her pupils were there.
Right:the teacher,together with her pupils was there.

If it does not affect the form of the verb then why were was changed to was?
