Subject and verb

Hi,

I would like to ask whether are these questions correct.

For example:

1) When it is hot and humid, my clothes sticks to me.

Verb: Sticks

Subject: Clothes

2) Some boys pitch with one hand and bat with another.

verb:Pitch/bat

subject: some boys(countable)

3) Marvin's excuses for not having completed his reasearch paper bore me.

Verb: bore

Subject: excuses

4) One computer for two or three students reflects the value of our society.

5) Small amounts of tar and nicotine damages the health of smokers.

6) The annual sales of video games in the United States probably exceeds a billion dollars.

7) The students waiting in line for the tickets to the concert expect to get good seats.

8) There were thousands of people at the parade.

Subject: A large monitor and quality sound(consider as one thing just like rice and bean)

2) Both the hard disk and the sofware installed on our old computer are damaged.

verb: are

I don't sense that 'a large monitor and quality sound' is one thing, but if you do, impresses is what you want.

Yes, you were right. For the question one, when the two subjects are naming one person, or thing, the subject is singular.

For example:

Fish and Chips is a specialty of local restaurants.

Reason: Refers to only one dish
