Subject and Focus

Hi
In the essay, can you tell me what is the subject and what is the focus?
Thank you

When I witnessed an accident

I was in the seventh grade when I witnessed a car hit my
classmate on her way home from school. It was a few minutes after we had said bye to Nancy as she proceeded to cross the highway and go to the other side of the road. While trying to cross a car hit her and she was thrown in the middle of the road.

The rest of us continued walking home sad and quiet as we all tried to process what had just happened and more importantly if we would see our dear friend again. I struggled with fear and nightmares throughout the night and I could hardly wait for the morning to come.

in the next day, we received news from Nancy's family that she had suffered a major brain injury and was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) receiving treatment.

After class was over I walked home with my friends it was a
tough week as I kept on thinking about whether Nancy would survive the injuries or not. I remember asking my mom a question " I said mom when people die where do they go? She replied they go to heaven and they become angels. My mother's response brightened my face as I felt like dying and becoming an angel was a good thing.

Sadly on the forth day we received sad news that Nancy had
passed in the middle of the night. I went home and locked myself in the bedroom and cried, I felt my friend didn't deserve to die but my comfort was that she had gone to heaven and would become an angel.
