subject & object next to each other?

  1. Whom you are going to marry?
  2. Whom are you going to marry?

  3. 1st one is wrong. Can I say this rule - "Subject and Object can never come next to each other". Else, are there any exceptions?

Can I say this rule - "Subject and Object can never come next to each other" No, because the word order is different in an indirect question: I wonder whom you are going to marry and in a relative clause: She is the woman whom you are going to marry . CJ

CJ- Can you please clarify when to use below sentences? I have no idea.

whom you are going to marry

whom are you going to marry

Use the second one in a direct question.

Whom are you going to marry?

Use the first one in all other situations.

... whom you are going to marry ...
