opinions is the subject in the sentence, isn't it?

Yes, the core meaning being "some of the experts' opinions have been equally worrying". I think I would delete the commas though. " also annoys me slightly.

Yes, the core meaning being "some of the experts' opinions have been equally worrying".

I think I would delete the commas though. "Equally as..." also annoys me slightly.
