Subject...........?

Hi! everyone. I want to know why was not the subject used again after being used at the start of the below sentence? Is this sentence written in colloquial style?
"I came here to note, but then saw this, so will go back there and ask to postpone 2 weeks."

You cannot just 'ask to postpone two weeks'. '... ask for a two-week postponement' works.
