style

Do you put "a" or "the" before "style" in these sentences?

-You have nice style!
-He's a singer with style.

If not, could you think of examples where you should put "a" or "the?"
Thank you!

In that sense, it is a countable noun, so "..a nice life style " would be considered correct.

Thanks.
When there is an adjective before "style" suddenly "a" is needed? That's so confusing!

I have one more to ask. If you just insert the "a" anyway and say "He's a singer with a style" does it become incorrect?
Thanks again for the help.

It is grammatically correct and may be acceptable to some, but semantically, it has that certain dull tone to my ear.

I don't think we can give you a hard and fast rule regarding this so I'll just throw in a couple of examples with very simple explanations/remarks.

He's a singer with style. ("style" here means "great style" so I don't have to ask myself "What kind of style?")

He's a singer with great style. (no article is needed ; the meaning is essentially the same as in the first example)
