stumble/trip

Is the any difference between stumble and trip? Are they completely interchangeable?

She stumbled/tripped and lost her grip on her towel, leaving her naked in the hallway.

Thanks.

There is a different action between a stumble and a trip. Stumbling, a leg, or both legs, kind of give way, possibly caused by catching your foot on something. Tripping, you catch one foot on something that causes you to (possibly) miss a step.

  • Bit difficult to explain without video.
  • If I knew how to post videos here I could film a stumble and a trip for you.

I've tried the way Tanit told me but failed... how about a link to UTube? Emotion: stick out tongue

I'm sorry, but I'm not technical enough to go linking to You Tube, and I'm steering clear of You Tube after Google has been ordered by a court to provide details of all users and video clips watched - sounds much too much like Big Brother really is coming!

Anyway, back to stumbling/tripping.

Stumbling causes the body to lurch forward - almost to fall.

Tripping will very

Thansk for the offer anyway. It's the thought that counts.

Here are some pictures (A picture's worth a thousand words). Please let me know how accurate they are.

Here are some pictures (A picture's worth a thousand words). Please let me know how accurate they are:

1. Good

2. Not sure, could be3 a trip or a stumble, we don't see the start of the action.

3. Looks more like a slip, but could be a stumble, doesn't look like a trip

I don't want you to get hurt while producing the video. I can't imagine how you can deliberately stumble/trip without hurting yourself. Please be careful
