Stumbles back
Red runs out of the room and collides with one of the armed bank robbers. Red swings the knife at him. The bank robber stumbles back, firing into the ceiling (as he falls).
Could you please help me make the last sentence natural. Is "stumbles back" okay to mean that he falls on his ass? Would you include "as he falls"?
