0I'm horrible when it comes to poems. So, I need to identify figures of speech used in this poem (metaphors, similes, synecdoches, metonymies etc). I've tried to do that but if you see any mistakes or something that I have missed, please let me now. It's is called 'Harlem'.02br 00What happens to a dream deferred?02br 00Does it dry up |'dry up' =metaphor 02br 00Like a raisin in the sun? | 'Like a raisin'= simile 02br 00Or fester like a sore - |'like a sore'= simile 02br 00And then run? | 'run'= I'm not sure about this one. Is this humanizing metaphor? 02br 00 Does it stink like rotten meat? |'like rotten meat'= simile 02br 00 Or crust and sugar over - | 'crust and sugar over'= metaphors?? 02br 00 Like a syrupy sweet? | 'like a....'= again a simile 02br 00Maybe it just sags | 'sags'= metaphor 02br 00Like a heavy load. |'Like a...'= simile02br 00Or doest it explode? |'explode'= metaphor??02br 02br 00Well, there it is. I only found metaphors and similes, as you can see. I'm not sure, though, if the 'dream' in the first line is also a metaphor. I was given advice that the title might help me on this and the date (1951). I'm not sure about the 'explode' part either. 0-
