I don't understand what is the difference between 5 years of study and 5 years of studies???
What is right?

Howdy, An interesting question I have to say. I'll try my luck, give it a shot and try to answer. I guess that something can take 5 years of study , for instance: I took me five years of study to master Spanish.

I guess that something can take 5 years of study, for instance:

I took me five years of study to master Spanish.

BUT when you say 5 years of studies you refer to these 5 years that you spend at univeristy studying various things.
