I started to learn languages a few years ago, however, since there are no Korean schools in my city, I started to study the language by myself through books and websites available for free on the Internet. Currently, I can read very well, but speaking is my weak point, since I do not have contact with Koreans around me. Altought it, I always listen to Korean music and watch dramas, because with them I will not forget the way they talk and the slangs they use. Because of it too, the unique choice that I had was to start to study in an English course that ended in 2018, but now in studying in the post advanced course, because I believe that having contact with the idiom is one of the best ways to learn more about it. As soon as I get to Korea, I will conciliate my English skills with Korean learning, aiming my objective, that is being fluent. As I will be studying four years for Biomedical Engineer, knowing Korean is indispensable. As provided I will attend all the Korean classes because with them, I will be able to communicate very well, learning the grammar structure and expanding my vocabulary. Besides, taking with me a notebook where I can write Korean and English vocabularies anywhere and anytime I see an unknown phrase, until the time I remember what I wrote in the past, because it already helps me a lot with English. With the communication skills, I will be able to talk with others in the country, not only Koreans, but those who know Korean or English and make some friends, so I could learn more about cultures, and be immersed in an environment that can extend communication between countries. As I will be in Korea I would take advantage of the ways of having contact with art present in the country, for example going to the theater, watching dance performances, and even going to the movies giving preference to dubbed Korean movies, because in that way I would having fun while learning Korean and more culture. And after a few months in the country, and with a little more advanced language, I would already start to search for formal vocabularies that I could see in the university. I have never tried to do the TOPIK before, but in the end of my first year in Korea, I have as objective the level 5 or, mainly level 6. |
