Studied overseas?

What are the differences among these sentences:

Did you study overseas before?

Have you studied overseas before?

Have you studied in the States before?

Did you study in the States before?

May I ask which ones are correct?

Actually they don't look right to me but I don't know how to rephrase them.

Thanks.
