Students should be introduced to new material at a such a pace

Hi

Could you please help me with the sentences below? I don't know how to phrase the #2 but I hope you get the sense what I'm trying to say and could help me with it. Thank you.

1: Students should be introduced to new material at a such a pace that the already covered material has become an integral part of their critical thinking.

2: Professor, it would be kind of you if you could stop the lecture, so that the material covered today get infixed/absorbed in our memory.
