Since co-ordinating conjunctions bring two independent clauses together, i'm lil confused whether this is a correct statement: I went to Shimla and bought two sweaters.
Above in the sentence, we have "bought two sweaters" part which is a dependant clause which comes after the coordinating conjunction "and".
Please put some light on it.
