Structure of the sentence

In the sentence below I think the main verb is 'are'. But the subject is 'What'. In this case it's against the subject-verb agreement. Beside this, I'd appreciate if you rephrase the sentence with easy words ,especially the highlighted part. In my thought, the sentence means that most people think they are not entitled because they think they're inferior and unworthy.


What most people don't correctly identify as entitlement are those people who perpetually feel as though the are inferior and unworthy of the world.
