structure of Noun Phrase

please tell me why the first one is wrong and the following ones are correct
It's from the chapter about the internal structure of NP.

1. *I like the student of physics more than that one of chemistry.
2. I like this student with long hair more than that one with curly hair.
3. I like this student of physics from Cambridge more than that one from Oxford.

Why in sentence one the n' [student] can't be replaced by 'one' in the next part while in two next sentences it is possible. Please help me!!
