Structure of a complex sentence

I believe the following sentence is grammatically correct.

The study is able to scientifically answer the questions it is intended to answer.

The sentence 'it is intended to answer' explains 'the questions'. However, I'm not able to explain why the sentence structure is correct. Any help please?

Thank you.
