Structure.

"I believe if students can choose a particular subject to study at the university, after graduation they will have a significant knowledge in that field (subject) to represent."

I'm saying my own opinion in this sentence, and by "particulat subject" i mean, for example students study computer programming and focus only in this subject. Is my sentence correct?
