Q) What is the structure of "sealed" part? Is it a participial phrase?

Is it like this?

It cannot exist for centuries while it is sealed in the heart of a tree or solid rock.

Ah.. I shouldn't have said that part as a participial phrase. I just thought the original part is interpreted as below.
It cannot exist for centuries while it is sealed in the heart of a tree or solid rock.
