1. He was not only the nation’s first president, but the person for whom the office was created. The second part of the sentence means that the reason why the office was created was because of this person?
2. No fact tried by a jury shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States. What does otherwise mean here? like we usually say: No one can come, otherwise you will be punished. Otherwise in this case means like if you come here, you will get punished. How about here?
