strong thoughts

All of a sudden, the thoughts of her came into my mind, so strong I couldn't resist missing her. It has been years since we've talked. In fact, I don't remember what I last said to her. I did a search on Google for her whereabouts, and as far as I can tell, she's pursuing her Phd. Nobody has ever hurt me as much as she did. I mean, our breakup came as a surprise to me. Although she's not the prettiest person I've ever met, her confidence and self esteem are so sexy that no man can resist falling in love with her. I guess I was fortunate to have her in my life though our love didn't last as long as I had wanted. I was silly to think she would be the love of my life and we would live happily ever after. To this day, I still think of her from time to time. Someday, I'll find the courage to talk to her again.

Are there any mistakes?

Thanks.

" the words, "I couldn't resist missing her" are not natural (maybe the thought is not natural) PhD ? No man can resist "no man could resist" (if he has the opportunity) as long as I had wanted - not clear what you mean. the words are okay, but the thought is confusing to me.

Avangias long as I had wanted
I wanted the relationship to last longer than it did. I don't see what's wrong with the original. Could you explain?

How about "I couldn't help but miss her"?

My problem is with the use of "missing." I want to say either you miss someone or you don't, Of course you can miss someone a lot or a little bit. Perhaps I'm trying to say we use the word so as to imply that we miss someone whether or not we happen to be thinking about it at a given time.

I couldn't stop thinking about how much I miss(ed) her. I couldn't resist the thought of how mu
