"strictly for reference"

Does the expression sound odd to you?
"The content is strictly for reference, please verify on your own for.."
And of course,

The part before the comma seems OK in itself. The sentence is a comma splice. Obviously it is not possible to comment on the second part, or on the overall sense, without seeing at least the full sentence.
