Hello, I've read carefully what everybody said about the stressing of "content words", and about the fact that you shouldn't stress prepositions. However I've just come back from the US and it's very frequent to hear people stress prepositions like in "Here's a present FOR you!" or in "Look AT him! I can't believe he went that far!". I really don't know why. No rule seems to acknowledge that fact but some people DO say it this way. Can anybody tell me why? Thanks in advance for your answer,
Jean Roch
