Stress of undercover

Hi,

Where should I put stress, under or cover?
I looked it up in my dictionary. The phonetic transcription shows the stress is on "cover".
But when I listened to a pronunciation software, I found the stress is on "under".
Would you clarify it?
Thanks.

I think that either 'un' and 'cov' can take the stress; it depends on the sentence flow (the preceding and succeeding stresses and the overall rhythm). I WENT underCOVer. He's an UNdercover COP
