Strained production

Hi

Is it correct to describe production as "strained"?

E.g. Our production (capacity) for the product is strained due to high demand. (=We are not making products fast enough to cope with the high demand.)

Other alternatives are welcome.

Thank you very much.

Sounds good to me. Although as a general rule, don't use two words with the same root in the same sentence unless you are repeating for emphasis or artistic expression. Our production capacity for the product is strained due to high demand.

Thank you, Elanguest. I just wanted to point out that the production for product A is strained, but not the production for, for instance, product B and C. Can you suggest another word to replace "product"? Thanks.
