Straight forward sentences with alternative word, which to use

Please help me choose the right word in each of the sentences?



  • I wanted to make sure you were in the train when/before I called you.



  • What time are you open until?/Until what time are you open?



  • What side of the bed did you get up on/from?



  • The more you sleep the more tired you are. Why do I feel more tired when I sleep 11 hours (rather) than 7 hours?



  • Are there any hotels with pools/Do any of the hotels have pools.



  • When he takes forever it/it’ll means he’s busy.



  • I'm blind in one eye/I can't see out of one eye.



  • You barely see him play/playing.



  • He’s the toughest player (out) of the bunch.



  • Give him something very short to do, that way he won’t slack off/so he doesn’t slack off.



  • They know/can know if you’ve been doing something other than your work.



  • I’m not close enough to him to do such a thing.



  • That hotel has nothing to do with our branch./isn’t part of our branch.

    Hi ALC, I have a few suggestions about your questions in general. In everyday conversation, I think no natives will speak in the styles used in your sentences. Perhaps, try to reevaluate your learning methodology.

    • As someone had pointed out that many of your repeated questions could have been easily answered if you were to do a little Google search on your part, and pay attention to the common mistakes.
    • Judging from the amount of questions you posted and help received, you should be improving.
