Storylines for TV episodes

In submitting an original idea for a TV series, some TV production companies require a (just the one) script, character bios, and a bunch of storylines to demonstrate the idea has a suitable amount of strong legs to support the series and any future seasons.

Does anyone have any tips, or can they point me the way to any resources, on how to write storylines for episodes of a TV drama series? What kind of stuff should be included and what should be left out, and how is it best to format a storyline? For example, should the names of regular characters be emphasised in any way?

Many thanks

Matthew

  • Many thanks Matthew[/nq] It sounds like a TV series 'bible' you're describing there.
  • Through google you should be able to coe up with a few templates on series made or someone pitching their creations.
