I wrote a story and posted it. I got a comment saying that the person ( I forgot who ) found a sentance wrong
The person told that this sentance was unclear cause it did not explain if the brothers were in school or university or finished both. Please tell me how I should clearly write it. What I wanted to express was :
The two brothers excelled in schools and universities.....

When the brothers studied at school, they were the best students. When the brothers graduated from university, they were
