Story of/about my life

After checking this thread (https://www.englishforums.com/English/StoryAboutAndStoryOf/bwrmzw/post.htm), I am still confused about the difference between "story of' and "story about".

If I describe my greatest achievement in life, is my description a story of my life?

If I describe how I have grown over the past few years, is my description a story of my life?

Can you give me an example of when to use a story about my life?

I can see why the thread didn't help you. It wasn't about your question exactly. The story of my life is my biography, nothing else.

  • There is no such thing as a story of my life.
  • I suppose there could be a story about my life, which might be based on my life without being what you could call a real biography.

No. The story of your life includes everything in your life from when you were born until now. This would be one of the following:

the story of my greatest achievement (in life)
a story from my life / a story about my life

book
