Hi all. Can you tell me which preposition to attach to the word "story" ?story about or story of? Which one is correct?

The question is the same with the word "confused" ? And if you use "confused of" or the rest, then what's the difference between "about" and "of" ? Thanks in advance !

A 'story about' (something) is a story that concerns that something in a general way. (Often 'a story about')

It's a story about greed.
It's a story about the French people.
It's a story about society in Russia in the late nineteenth century.

The 'story of' (something) concerns that something in a very direct and specific way. (Often 'the story of')

It's the story of a man who was secretly held prisoner for 40 years.
It's the story of the American Civil War.
It's the story of Josephine Baker.
