storehouse/ warehouse/ stockhouse

Please call the _____ and find out if they have more armchairs in stock.

A) storehouse

I looked up the dictionary. A, B, are the same thing. I didn't find the meaning of stock house. Can any advisor help?

"Storehouse" may be okay according to the dictionary but it is uncommon in the English I have heard spoken. I think a storehouse is more general than a warehouse, which is used only for goods to be sold or transported (and then to be sold). If I have to store some furniture for a few years, I can put it into a storehouse.

  • A stockhouse is like a jail.

warehouse=storehouse to a large extent, but
the only one I hear these days in common speech is warehouse.
