I heard the sentence "make it stop" in a movie. In the movie, a machine was running loudly and a guy told another guy that sentence, but I am really confused:
1) shoud it be "stop it",
2) what is the difference between "make it stop" and "stop it",
3) and is "to stop something" causative?
Thank you.
