Stop for the day

Hi

It's a sentence from an exercise which you should be doing for twenty minutes.

... if it takes you more than twenty minutes to finish twenty-five repetitions with each arm, then you can stop for the day.

--- Does "stop for the day" mean that you don't have to repeat this exercise again during the given day or it just means that you can stop the exercise when it exceeds twenty minutes and don't do any more repetitions?

Top answer

I read it as meaning that you should stop working out entirely for the day. 20 minutes is a long time for just two sets of 25 reps. Your first interpretation is also possible though.
