Hi guys,

What could be the best guess for the meaning of "stocks" marked in red below?

I dare say the word chosen here is wrong. But very close: "stocks" should be "stockings", which could fit here. But "socks" is the most appropriate one.

That reminds me, Stock is a german word for "ski sticks," right..?

I just know I'd rather rent ski poles someone else has used than socks. Even if they are washed.
