Stir sugar

Hi again,
I've got a question concerning sugar. Do you stir sugar into tea/coffee or in tea/coffee? Or maybe there is another expression for that?

Thank you.

Of the two choices, the first one souns better to my ear. I'd probably say 'put the sugar in[to] the coffee and stir.
