a) I'm looking for a word which means "stimulation" in this context:
This paper deals with biodiesel production and the significance of marketing in its stimulation in the Republic of Croatia.
b) Is "significance" proper choice in the same context?
c) Is the meaning clear?

It means that biodiesel should be promoted because it is something new in this market. I guess promotion would fit better. Stimulation is totally inappropriate here.
