still,always,now etc.

How do I use these words correctly ?

1.He was still able to become stronger than him.
2.He still was able to become stronger than him.

1.He is now way stronger.
2.He is way stronger now.
3.He now is way stronger.

1.He already was stronger than him.
2.He was already stronger than him.
3.He was stronger than him already.

Is there a special rule or something?

I tend to keep the modifier (for time) with the verb; but there may actually be a rule. 1-1: “was still able” 2-1: “is now way stronger” 3-2: “was already stronger”
