The small group of woodcutters set out in the still/quiet hours before dawn.
I understand the difference between the two words, one for sound and motion the other solely for sound. But one of my friends who is a native English speaker said he felt strange about either of them. So my question is do you say "still/quiet hours" in your daily speech? Thank you!
Top answer
Quiet would be more common in current speech, I think. Still is a bit poetic here.
