Hi,
When your muscles are stiff and tense, they don’t ‘spring’.
I’m not sure if the word is appropriate. It doesn’t sound good to my ear, but I don’t know what to use instead.
When a physiotherapist wants to loosen up the muscles around your spine, she presses down on your back. However, if you’re stiff as a board, your back (or muscles) don’t .....(spring?)
I hope that you know where I’m going with this.
Thank you.
We say they are tight (adj) or too tight, in knots, or else that they "don't stretch". I've heard therapists talk about how they "can't work" the muscles.
