stick one's head out (of) the window

I often see 'he sticked his head out the window.'.
I guess 'out of the window' is better, but which form is correct?

Hi,

Either way is fine, you can omit 'of' if you want to.

But, the past tense verb is 'stuck'.

'He stuck his head out (of) the window.'
