Stephen King's story outes.

Problem sentences are underlined:

1)The woodwork was greasy and dark. Above it, where the plaster started, there were a number of bumper-stickers — Buddy's idea of decoration.

there's no town drunk here, we all take turns.

2)
When my burger was ready, Buddy had to call twice. When I went over to get it, he said: 'You back to stay or to clear out?'

'Why?' I asked. 'Did you miss me, Buddy?'

'Nup,' he said, 'but at least you're from in-state. Did you know that 'Massachusetts' is Piscataqua for 'a$s$s$h$o$l$e'?'

'You're as funny as ever,' I said.

'Yuh. I'm going on f$u$k$i$n Letterman. Explain to him why God gave seagulls wings.'

'Why was that, Buddy?'

'So they could beat the f$u$c$k$i$n Frenchmen to the dump.'

Could someone help?

Thanks.

Peter.

Um... just to add to this: Mainers don't much like people from Massachusetts. They call them "Massholes" which is a play on Massachusetts and a vulgar word. Steven King is in Maine and often sets his stories there. The Piscataqua is a tribe of native Americans in Maine. I actually find it a funny comment, although I'm sure those from Massachusetts do not.
