Step-by-step plan of your lesson

1. Warm up: First thing always is a big smile! Say hello to the students. Begin
by saying animals names and do some animal voices. T-S 3mins.

2. Using the picture flashcards and stuffed animals, ask the students to guess the pictures. Continue this exercise until you are sure that the students has a good understanding of the nouns. S-T 5mins.

3. Play a quick a game of memory with the students. Show the picture flashcards to them quickly, and ask the student to try and name as many animals as possible. T-S S-T 5mins.

4. Using both the picture and word flashcards, ask the students to match them up into the correct pairs. S-S 3mins.

5.I ask the students to come up to the board and write the correct spelling of an animal. T-S 2mins.

6. Using the picture flashcards and stuffed animals, place them in front of the students and ask them to say a sentence about that particular animal, and describe it. e.g. This is a bear, it big and brown. S-T 3mins.

7. Ask the students to complete an activity worksheet of animals crosswords. The students will be paired as they can work together filling in the crossword. S 5mins.

8. To complete the lesson, we will check the answer of the crossword with the whole class. T-S 5mins.

Please can anyone tell me where am I going wrong with this?

This appears to be a nice little plan for a 30 minute class with very young learners. Too bad you don't have just 10 minutes more... One thing - if you start off with a big smile and hello, make certain your students do the same.
